Local high school and college students can earn up to $10,000 in financial support for their education through Young & Free Michigan’s 2013 scholarship programs. The Southfield Sun profiled the video and essay contests, as well as the more than $650,000 the Michigan First Foundation has given to local students over the past nine years. Young & Free Spokester Austin Chapman and 2012 scholarship recipient Ryan Smith also shared their insights about the contest and its impact on the community.
